12:25 a.m. — 500 Block of South Yonge Street. Civil complaint. A man called the police because he let a stranger borrow his motorcycle, and that person hadn’t returned it.
The stranger had approached the man and propositioned him to rent his motorcycle, an offer the man admitted he was initially hesitant about, but he eventually agreed. The stranger offered to leave his New York identification and credit card and also agreed to pay $300 when he returned with the motorcycle later.
The man called the stranger about 30 minutes before the bike was supposed to be returned, and the stranger said he wanted to keep it until the next day.
The man told the stranger keeping the motorcycle until the morning wasn’t an option, at which point the stranger hung up the phone.
Police couldn't locate the motorcycle at a Daytona Beach hotel, where the stranger may or may not have been staying.
