The first Flagler Palm Coast High School Alumni Association social held April 23, at Houligan's, included graduates spanning from 1987 to 2010.
The association was formed a month ago as a way for local and non-local alumni to keep in touch and give back. The two main projects of the group are going to be a scholarship foundation, which will award two $1,000 scholarships next year, and an annual alumni weekend.
“I just think there are so many great people that have graduated FPC that do great things,” said Alumni Association President Heidi Alves. “We are all proud of where we came from, have kids that are either going or going to be going to that school and a lot of us are teachers, too. There’s a legacy: the past, present and future. Many of us were there when there were only two hallways.”
The association currently has 80 members from graduating classes dating back to the 1970s to as recent as three years.
All FPC graduates are encouraged to register for the association at www.fpchsalumni.com. The next social will be 6:30 p.m. June 13, at Woody’s Bar-B-Q.
