The Grand Club's golf courses at Pine Lakes and Cypress know how to respect the flag, and now they have a certificate from the Flagler Chapter of the Sons of the American Revolution to prove it.

Cart staff member Joseph Kerber is the man responsible for taking care of the stars and stripes. He served for four years with the Honor Guard, including his senior year in JROTC at Flagler Palm Coast High School. He then served in the Air Force from 2007 to 2011.

"It's important to do it right," Kerber said. "All the people I've served with and the ones who aren't with us anymore — they at least deserve that."
