Registration is underway in Ormond Beach for youth flag football, youth volleyball and men's softball.

Juke and jive: Flag football is here
The city of Ormond Beach Leisure Services Department is accepting registration for youth flag football, until Aug. 23. The league is for boys and girls, ages 7-14 (age as of Sept. 1).
Cost is $53 for residents and $80 for nonresidents.
All applicants must register before the skills test and must attend the skills test to be placed on a team. Tryout date and times will be noted on registration reciepts.
A mandatory meeting for coaches will be held 7:15 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 29, at the Nova Community Park Gymnasium, 440 N. Nova Road.
Games will begin Sept. 23.
Coaches and sponsors are needed. Sponsorship is $125. Make sponsorship checks payable to “City of Ormond Beach.” The name of the sponsor will be placed on uniform shirts, and each sponsor will receive a team plaque.

Serve it up: Coed youth volleyball coming
Registration for the fall 2013 coed youth volleyball league for boys and girls, ages 10-16 (as of Sept. 1), started Aug. 5.
Cost is $42 for residents, $63 for nonresidents. Registration will take place at the Ormond Beach Leisure Services Department registration office, at 399 N. U.S. 1. Office hours are 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday, and 7:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday.
Practices and games will be held twice a week 5:30-7 p.m. and also 7-8:30 p.m., depending on skill level and age. Practices and games will be at the Nova Community Center Gymnasium and will run from Sept. 9 to Nov. 7.

Ormond Beach’s men’s softball starts Sept. 3
It’s about time to lather up the old ball glove.
The city's Leisure Services Department has announced its 14th-annual men’s fall softball league will begin Sept. 3. Each team will get a minimum of 16 games, which will run through mid-November.
Games will be Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday nights at the Ormond Beach Sports Complex, 700 Hull Road.
Players must be 18 years old to participate. Team fee is $620.
Rules, regulations and fees will be discussed at the preseason meeting, which will be 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 20, at the Ormond Beach Sports Complex office. Interested teams should have a representative attend to collect information packets and discuss league rules.
