Tuxedo cat disappears
5:45 p.m. First Block of Blairsville Drive. Suspicious Incident. When the victim returned home, she found that one of her cats had disappeared. She describes the cat in question to have a “tuxedo” color scheme. She told the deputy that she did have an interior cat door that led into the covered porch area.
She believed that someone had come into her home to unlock the screen door and let the cat out. The victim advised that nothing was missing and it appeared that nothing had been moved. About an hour later, the victim called dispatch and advised that she had located her cat in her yard but still believes that someone had let him out.
July 28
“Heading” over to the inmate facility
10:40 a.m. First Block of Woodworth Drive. Felony Criminal Mischief. When a deputy arrived on the scene, a male was detained for reports of a possible physical disturbance. After resisting arrest without violence and being detained, the detainee was placed in the back of the deputy’s squad car and was transported to the Flagler County Inmate Facility.
While waiting for the correction deputies to retrieve him, the detainee began yelling and banging his head repeatedly on the metal bars covering the rear passenger side window. After asking the man what was wrong, the deputy stepped behind the vehicle to talk to another officer. Meanwhile, the man began continually slamming his head against the Plexiglas partition, which separated the front passenger area and rear of the patrol vehicle.
Before the deputy could prevent the man in custody to further damage his car, the divider broke and cracked in half. The estimated value of the broken parts and labor will exceed $1,000.
None of your business
6:30 p.m. 4000 Block of N. U.S. 1. Loitering/Prowling. A deputy was dispatched to the above location referencing a commercial alarm. A second call was received regarding the same location about a white male with a beard wearing a gray sweatshirt and jeans looking into closed business windows and commercial work vehicles.
Upon arrival, the deputy located the man in the rear side of the building near a fence surrounding a storage facility, which contained multiple vessels and vehicles on the opposite side of the fence.When questioned as to why the man was there, he answered with multiple excuses but namely that he was the owner of the business.
Contact was made to the real owner of the business and stated that he did not know of any man who fit the description or by his name. The suspect was then detained and brought to the Flagler County Inmate Facility without incident. The businesses were checked and there were no signs of forced entry.
Aug. 1
Better to gift card than to receive
4:08 p.m. 1200 Block of Palm Coast Parkway S.W. Larceny Shoplifting. Upon the deputy’s arrival, he made contact with the store’s loss prevention officer who had stated that one of the employees had used merchandise numbers to return items and place them on a gift card for her own use. On two occasions the employee refund sums of money onto gift cards for a total amount of $333.37.
