Charlotte's web ... and jewelry heist
10:26 p.m. — 10 Block of Central Avenue. Burglary. The couple had been out back most of the evening — the man sitting on the patio while the woman swam — the couple told police. But when the wife went back inside the house, she noticed that jewelry had been taken from their bedroom. The man noticed that their bedroom window was open and the screen had been pushed out.
The officer walked around the house to search for evidence and noticed that the screen had been removed with no sign of forced entry. He also noticed a spider web located in the middle of the window and noted in his report that if entry was made through the window, the web would have been disturbed. He also noticed that the ground outside was wet with dew and there were no footprints on the bed by the window.
Reported stolen were five gold rings with jewels and two pairs of diamond earrings.

'Cut' it out. (Get it? Because of the clippers?)
7:56 p.m. — 80 Block of Division Avenue. Assault/Battery. Two men and a woman said they had just returned from a birthday dinner when their neighbor started yelling and cursing at them as soon as they got out of the car. They said this is an ongoing problem and the man is “crazy.”
The woman said she approached the neighbor to get him to relax and go inside but the man began to swing hedge-clippers and struck her right hand. She had a small laceration on her hand but she said she didn’t want to pursue charges.
The neighbor with the clippers told police that the other people started the incident, saying they antagonized him by yelling as he clipped his hedges, minding his business. He said the woman came onto his property and tried to grab the clippers and that’s how she hurt her hand. Several witnesses said they saw the neighbor’s unruly behavior but did not see the woman get hit by the clippers.

The girl's got street cred-it
2:25 p.m. — 1500 Block of West Granada Boulevard. Fraud. A man at a home-improvement store told a police officer that he suspected his girlfriend had been using his credit card. He still had the card, he said, but he believed she had copied down the numbers before she left more than a week ago.
The loss-prevention officer at the store said the two purchases in question had been made over the phone and the items picked up at the store. Upon reviewing security footage, the officer determined the person on the video matched the description of the girlfriend. The man said his girlfriend had a drug problem and a history of erratic behavior. The officer kept copies of the receipts as evidence.
