For those whose neighborhoods have an abundance of free-roaming cats, there is relief. A free, public presentation by the Flagler Humane Society will explain how to assist community cats.

The Humane Society recently received a $25,000 grant to assist with efforts to trap, neuter and return feral cats in Flagler Beach. The grant will pay for spaying or neutering as well as rabies vaccinations at no cost to those assisting community cats.

The presentation will outline options for effectively and humanely handling the issue of cat overpopulation. It will be held at 6 p.m. on August 19, at the commission meeting room inside Flagler Beach City Hall.
