Andoni Alfonso, 12, is the first student to complete the full Kumon Reading program at the Palm Coast Center. But not only did Alfonso complete the program, his certificate also came back with a rank of 1 out of 7,332 sixth-graders who competed the program. Now, just starting seventh-grade at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic School, Alfonso is working on the math program, as he aspires to be a genetic engineer.

Augusto “Trey” de Leon, 13, also completed the reading program at Kumon with a rank of 1 out of 6,496 seventh-graders studying in Kumon at that time. He started at a center in Jacksonville, but then transferred to the Palm Coast center.

He is now working on Kumon Math Level K, advanced algebra 2 and is an eighth-grade student at Indian Trails Middle School, in the gifted program.

But de Leon’s success is not limited to Kumon. Last year he received perfect scores on the FCAT in math and reading and the algebra 1 EOC, which he took in seventh grade. He aspires to be a doctor.

Another Kumon Palm Coast student who is going above and beyond in her studies is 9-year-old Holly Darlington, who is currently studying algebra 1. She just started fourth grade at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton.
