A mobile licensing unit will be at City Hall next week; Ocean Center to host Olympic athletes; public works update; emergency stats; and more.

Licensing on Wheels

The Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles “Florida Licensing on Wheels” mobile unit will stop at City Hall 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday, Aug. 26.

Ocean Center to host Olympic athletes

Nearly 300 of America’s best trampoline and tumbling athletes will meet Aug. 30 through Sept. 1, at the Ocean Center, for the 2013 Stars & Stripes Cup.

The three-day competition, presented by USA Gymnastics, will serve as the final selection event for this year’s World Championships and World Age Group Competition, which are scheduled November, in Bulgaria. The Olympic Development Team also will be named after this meet.

Events will include individual trampoline, tumbling, synchronized trampoline and double mini-trampoline. Admission on Thursday and Sunday is free. An all-day ticket for Friday or Saturday is $11; 8-year-old and younger get in free. Tickets are available at the door.

City concrete crews installed a concrete pad for a memorial bench at the Birthplace of Speed Park and made sidewalk repairs on Coquina Drive and Wye Drive.
