With the swim season just beginning, the new Matanzas swimming coach Carrie Purdy has some big goals set for the team.

Purdy, who works at Florida Hospital Flagler as a physical therapy assistant, was a division one swimmer at the University of Akron and previously coached at Seabreeze High School from 2004-2009.

With a lot of returning swimmers, the new coach believes that they have what it takes to make it to states this year. Her goal is to bring at least one boys and one girls relay to the state competition, something Matanzas has never done before.
