A video game thief puts himself under arrest; this perpetrator drew first habanero; a neighbor threatens her neighbor's daughter's education; and, if robbery doesn’t work, there's always begging.

Aug. 12.
'C'mon, officer, let's go to jail'
4:05 p.m. — 1500 Block of West Granada Boulevard. Shoplifting. The police stopped a car matching the description of a suspected shoplifter, who was seen running out of a store and fleeing with other individuals, on South Nova Road. When the officer noticed that one of the car's occupants matched the description of the shoplifter, he asked him to step out of the car.
After the officer placed the suspect's backpack on the trunk of the car, the suspect spontaneously said, “Let’s go to jail.” When asked why the officer should take him to jail, the suspect kindly explained, “Because everything in the backpack is stolen.”
No one else in the car knew about the theft, the suspect said. In the backpack, the officer found 15 video games for both Xbox 360 and Playstation 3, valued at $337.91.
The suspect said he had no money and was going to pawn the merchandise.
Aug. 16
Feeling hot, hot, hot
11:27 a.m. — 80 Block of Division Avenue. Vandalism. A witness said she saw the suspect’s bike outside, so she came out to tell him to leave the property. That's when she saw the suspect smear habanero peppers on the front door of the neighbor’s house.
She then saw the suspect place yard debris in the driveway of the same house, after she called the police. While examining the door, the officers noticed several pepper plants growing in pots along the driveway. The owner was later contacted and he asked to press charges.
Aug. 16
'You'll never learn in this town again'
6:04 p.m. — 40 Block of Lake Walden Trail. Civil Complaint. Showing an officer a small amount of palm tree limbs on the side of her yard, the victim explained that her neighbors were throwing trash in her yard. on a small plant near the house. She said they were causing damage to the plant, because of an ongoing issue.
She also said that the neighbor told her she would make sure her daughter did not attend a local college, since she worked there. The neighbors also video record her and ask her strange questions, she added.
Aug. 19
Beg, borrow or steal
12; 15 a.m. — 600 Block of South Nova Road. Armed Robbery. The store clerk told police that that he was helping a customer when a white male entered the store demanding that the clerk give him the money in the cash register.
The clerk told him no, and so the suspect began begging for the money. He demanded several times for the clerk to empty the register but, instead, the clerk offered to call the police, so the suspect grabbed for the phone. After more arguing, the suspect left the store on a bicycle.
The police tracked the bike but did not find the victim. They also found one fingerprint on the counter and there is video of the incident. Nothing was taken from the store.
