With the help of Chairperson Wanda Denise and her committee of Martha Rentas, Rose Vega and Paul Denise, three winners were chosen to receive $500 scholarships from the Hispanic American Club this year.
The winners, chosen for their scholastic achievement and other factors, were Cheyenna Espinosa, a descendant of Mexico and Puerto Rice; Juan Pablo Torres from Colombia; Agata Aniela Sokolsa, a descendant of Poland.

Ian Hubbs has been selected to the second team for the 2013 Class 6A Preseason All-State Elite Team by FloridaHSFootball.com. A junior at Matanzas High School, Hubbs is a kicker and is the only player in Flagler County to be chosen.
