Lie, cheat, steal, be redeemed

6:06 p.m. — 400 Block of South Yonge Street. Burglary of Conveyance. The victim left work and went to her car to find the passenger window smashed and her purse missing. She said the purse was an older, dark brown Liz Claiborne model with a flap, but the only thing inside were religious paper fliers, titled “Watch Tower," which she hands out to people.

She said the items have no monetary value. The officer told her to check with the station the next day to see if her purse had been found.

Nice TV — I'll take it

2:20 p.m. — 700 Block of Hand Avenue. Burglary. The victim left his house at noon, he told police, but the suspect stayed there. He then got a call from his mother at about 1 p.m. and she told him the neighbors called her to say that their dog was outside and the backyard gate was open.

Upon returning home, the victim found that the suspect was gone, as was his 42-inch plasma television. Neighbors said they saw a grey, “jacked-up,” truck pull into the driveway while he was gone and then leave quickly.

The victim told police that about a month earlier, friends heard the suspect on the phone asking someone what they would give her for the TV. The police called the suspect on her cell phone but she did not answer. The victim said he would like to press charges.

‘Come outside; I'm going to shoot you'

8:38 p.m. — 200 Block of Palm Place. Threatening Phone Call. The victim told police she received two phone calls from the suspect, one at 7:55 p.m., when the suspect asked her why she called the police on him about an incident that happened in Port Orange. The victim hung up, she said, when the suspect started yelling.

The victim said the suspect later called back and said, “Come outside, I’m going to shoot you.” But the victim was already outside, so she knew the suspect wasn’t there. The victim did not want to press charges but wanted the incident documented. She was advised not to answer the phone if he calls again.
