Law enforcement upping patrols for Labor Day

Southern states are coming together this weekend to ensure that the roads are safe for Labor Day travelers, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

The eight states that line Interstate 10 — Florida, Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana, Texas, New Mexico, Arizona and California  will be participating in an intensified law enforcement initiative to called "10-8 of 10: One Road, One Mission."

The aim of this initiative is to reduce traffic crashes and unlawful activity associated with motor vehicles using an intensified enforcement operation.

Flagler County offices will be closed Sept. 2 for Labor Day, as will the clerk of court's offices, the Palm Coast city offices, and the Flagler County Sheriff's Office administrative offices.
