Let's talk about your ex, baby
8:29 a.m. — 2100 Block of Airport Road. Simple Stalking. The victim reported receiving harassing phone calls at work, in the last of which the caller claimed to be her brother and said that he had been in a motorcycle accident. The caller then began to curse at her and said, “You know I met you on Craigslist.”
The victim said she believes the calls are the result of someone impersonating her on Craigslist and posting ads stating that she is looking for casual sex and to call her at work. As a result of the ad, she has had three separate calls from men. She believes her ex-boyfriend and his girlfriend are behind the postings, which have now been removed from Craigslist.
She said she had been harassed online, as well. The officer suggested she file an injunction against the suspect and have Craigslist flag her name to block future posts.

Run first, ask questions later
4:18 p.m. — 700 Block of South Nova Road. Stolen Vehicle. A police officer began tailing a reportedly stolen vehicle with his siren activated, so the suspect pulled into a shopping plaza. But then he exited his vehicle and began running toward the rear of the plaza.
The officer followed in his car and shouted out the window for the suspect to stop. The victim looked back then jumped over a brick wall behind the plaza. The officer got out of his car and chased him, scaling several fences until reaching Bryant Street, where the defendant began to tire and walk at a fast pace. The officer caught up to him and ordered him to the ground. The suspect turned to face him and placed his hand in his right-front pocket. The officer removed his Taser from his belt and again ordered the suspect to the ground but the suspect attempted to flee.
The officer deployed his Taser and the suspect was arrested and taken to jail.

A knee-the-jerk reaction
10:15 p.m. — 1100 Block of West Granada Boulevard. Assault and Battery. The victim was returning to her SUV from a gas station, looking down at her phone, when she was suddenly struck in the face. She reacted by lifting her knee quickly and striking her attacker in the groin.
The victim then quickly got into her car, locked the doors and left the parking lot. After getting home, she called police and described the suspect. She said he never said anything or tried to take anything. She had a bump and an abrasion to her forehead.
