A good meal and a good cause will be served at the local River Grille from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m this Sunday, Dec. 15. The 6th-annual Fish Fry Buffet to benefit FL Lions Conklin Center for the Blind includes an buffet with coffee or tea included.

The restaurant will donate a portion of each diner’s bill to the center.

Denise Harlow, special events coordinator for the Conklin Center for the Blind, said: “They do donate a good percentage of the proceeds back to us, but it is more or less a community awareness for the Conklin Center. People really love seafood, and the River Grille is a really great restaurant. We teamed up together and formed this partnership.”

There will also be drawings for door prizes.

“As we all get a little bit older, our vision tends to get a little poorer,” Harlow said. “At the Conklin Center for the Blind in January, we’re celebrating our 35th anniversary of serving the blind community.”
