Weeks of speculation and rumors ended Dec. 17, when the Seattle Sounders traded Eddie Johnson to D.C. United in exchange for allocation money. The amount was not disclosed, per Major League Soccer policy.

Two years ago, Johnson was named the MLS Comeback Player of the Year after he netted 14 goals in 24 starts for the Sounders. Last season, he scored nine goals.

Since 2004, Johnson has scored 19 goals in 59 appearances for the U.S. Men’s National Team. He hopes to be a member of the international squad for the 2014 FIFA World Cup.
