After dropping the first game last weekend at the Florida State Championships, Team Flagler, a competitive slow-pitch softball team, turned on the heat.
The team went on to win five straight games en route to the state title. The tournament was held in Plant City.
Over the final five games, Team Flagler outscored its opponents, 99-42. In the final game of the weekend, Team Flagler knocked off the Outlaws, 17-2.
Team Flagler was led by shortstop Steve Bolter and catcher/pitcher Jim Jividen, both of whom hit over .700 and drove in 15 RBIs in five games. Joe Herbert, who plays first base and is a designated hitter, hit .650 with one home run and 12 RBIs.
As a team, Team Flagler hit .676 with 13 triples, 42 doubles, two homers and 115 RBIs. Batters only struck out a total of four times.
