Prowling investigation leads to drug arrest
7:44 p.m. — 300 Block of Parque Drive. Narcotics. A police officer observed a dark figure riding a bicycle, with no lights, come out from behind a closed business and then ride briskly away. When the suspect saw the officer approaching, he stopped and acted like he was trying to get the lights to work.
The suspect said he was riding around the businesses looking for scrap metal. He admitted he had been charged with burglary in the past. The suspect became increasingly angry, started yelling and stopped cooperating with the investigation. He was arrested for loitering and prowling and placed in handcuffs.
In the suspect’s jacket, the officers found a needle, straw, small heating spoon and two pills, which were identified as narcotics. He was then charged with possession of narcotics and paraphernalia.
