Not so honest Abe

5:39 p.m. — 200 Block of Granada Boulevard. Fraud. The suspect entered the restaurant and paid for a sandwich and drink, which cost $9.24, with a $100 bill.

The clerk checked the bill with a money marker, and according to the report, it checked out as legitimate. However, after the suspect left the restaurant, the clerk held it up to a light and noticed it had an Abraham Lincoln watermark instead of a Benjamin Franklin watermark.

The bill was collected as evidence, and the clerk told police the restaurant may also have video surveillance.
