'Dew' the right thing
1:30 p.m. — 700 Block of Granada Boulevard. Theft. A Walgreens pharmacist was arrested for stealing approximately $518.02 worth of merchandise, including two cartons of cigarettes, 15 frozen cheeseburgers and 390 bottles of Mountain Dew, over his three years of employment.
According to the report, the defendant also admitted to the store’s loss-prevention officer that, on two occasions, he stole non-scheduled drugs (Ibuprofen) from the pharmacy.
The defendant told police he took the items due to a lack of money, and added that he paid the store for several items after taking them, but he had no proof of that.
