Lost and Found
12:51 a.m. — Ryan Drive and Rymshaw Drive. Narcotics. While a deputy was patrolling his zone, he observed a vehicle with their lights on parked in a vacant lot, with one occupant in the vehicle. Upon making contact with the driver, the suspect advised he was lost and waiting for a friend to pick him up and show him how to get home. The suspect was nervous while speaking with the deputy.
After checking credentials, the deputy, along another deputy who was there to assist with the consensual encounter, observed a cigar that had been cut down the middle just outside of the suspect’s vehicle. Also observed on the ground was piece of paper that was folded in half that had a green, leafy substance directly lying on top. A small blue baggie was laying beside the substance.
The deputy then searched the suspect for any weapons and illegal narcotics. Inside of the suspect’s wallet, behind his cash, was another small blue baggie containing more leafy substance. The substance tested positive for marijuana. The amount in the suspect’s wallet was .9 grams with .2 grams in what was on top of the folded paper.
The suspect was then placed under arrest for possession of approximately 1.1 grams of marijuana.

Water You Doing On My Property?
2:45 a.m. — First Block of Plateau Lane. Suspicious Incident. Upon arrival, a deputy made contact with a female homeowner advising a young male, wearing a black and white shirt with gray sweatpants and no shoes, rang her doorbell. The suspect stated that he accidentally broke a water pipe in the rear of her house while ‘playing a game.’
The homeowner then advised the suspect left the property. The homeowner then went to the rear of her residence where she observed a water spigot had been broken off the exterior wall of her home. The homeowner stated that water was seen gushing out of the broken spigot for several minutes before her boyfriend was able to stop the flow of water by shutting off water supply.
No one matching the suspect’s description was located during a canvass of the area.

Extra! Extra! Trouble
11 a.m. — Four Thousand Block of Belle Terre Parkway. Larceny Shoplifting. A deputy responded in reference to a shoplifter who was in custody. The deputy made contact with a store employee who advised that he observed a suspect shoplift numerous items from the store.
The employee advised he observed the suspect select two DVD’s and place them in a newspaper, along with three magazines. The employee also advised he saw the suspect select two bottles of vitamins and place them in his pocket. The employee stated the suspect then left the store passing all points of sale.
The employee confronted the suspect outside of the store where he escorted him back to the loss prevention office where the merchandise was recovered. The items totaled $64 in value.
The suspect was issued a notice to appear in court and issued a trespass warning.
