The best advice I ever got was,
“Never give up. We can’t give up.”
I can hear my father’s voice telling me this many times. It comes from a man who has been through things few of us will survive. Sometimes when I feel life is hard or things seem to go wrong, I can see his blue eyes looking straight into mine; I can hear his voice telling me not to give up. Then, I quickly shake it off, think about him, and I don’t dare to complain.
