Dumpster art

8:52 a.m. — 1400 Block of Hand Avenue. Vandalism. An Ormond Beach police officer responded to the location for reported dumpster vandalism. There was also “graffiti-style paint” on the west side of the building, which, according to the report, appeared to be gang-related. The graffiti included: “TRIP”, “13”, “777”, “PLY BAY native”, “5outh 5ide” and profanity.

There was also “an eyeball, a five-point star and a diamond.” This wasn't the first time graffiti had been found on the building, according to reports.

Where’s your Christmas spirit?

12:54 a.m. — 1000 Block of Ocean Shore Boulevard. Vandalism. The suspect was evicted from a hotel, after hosting a party with underage drinking in his room. During the party, the suspect damaged some Christmas decorations at the gazebo. While at the front desk, the suspect spontaneously said, “I’m the one who damaged the wreath,” and said he was angry about his girlfriend, who wasn’t at the hotel. The Christmas decoration, valued at $20, was a green garland with lights.

Police accompanied the hotel clerk as the two rooms the suspected rented were inspected. The rooms were empty, and no other damage was done.

No criminal charges were pressed.
