Flagler County residents Bill Davis, Sally Jackson, Jerry Sweeney, Valerie Betts, Chuck Gessert, Bonnie Siamon, Peter Trubeck and Sylvia Waldman will be featured in the upcoming play at the Ormond Beach Performing Arts Center, “Anything Goes.”
“Anything Goes” is a musical by Cole Porter set aboard the ocean liner S. S. American, where nightclub singer/evangelist Reno Sweeney, played by Betts, is en route from New York to England, with her show girl “Angels.” Her pal has stowed away to be near his love, but the problem is she is engaged to the wealthy Lord Evelyn Oakleigh, played by Sweeney. With the help of some colorful characters, elaborate disguises, tap-dancing and a good old-fashioned revival, a love triangle is formed aboard the ship.
Presented by the Ormond Beach Senior Theater Workshop and Ormond Beach Friends of the Arts, all performers in our shows are over the age of fifty.
The show will take the stage 7:30 p.m. Friday, Jan 11, Saturday, Jan. 12, 2:30 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 13, at the Ormond Beach Performing Arts Center, 399 N. U.S. 1, Ormond Beach. For information and reservations, call 676-3375.
