And another thing: I'm on probation
9:03 p.m. -- 700 Block of Nova Road. Traffic stop. The Ormond Beach police officer initiated a traffic stop after seeing the defendant driving with a defective headlight. The defendant told the officer she had the vehicle’s registration and insurance but not a valid driver’s license. The officer obtained the defendant’s name and social security information and began walking back to his patrol car when the defendant “spontaneously uttered that she was on probation,” the report said.
The defendant was on probation for possession of methamphetamine. The officer radioed for backup and then received the defendant’s permission to search the vehicle. During the search, police officers found a single hypodermic needle, an electronic scale with white residue and a package of Sudafed, in the defendant's purse. A female officer was then radioed to the location to conduct a pat down, which revealed an additional package of Sudafed.
The defendant told the police she wasn’t the registered owner of the vehicle, and that the registered owner was currently in jail. According to the report, after the officers told the defendant the vehicle was going to be towed, she “spontaneously uttered that she would have someone break into the vehicle” so that it could be recovered.
The defendant was placed under arrest for possession of narcotics, possession of drug paraphernalia and for violation of parole.
