Steve Humphrey, the offensive coordinator and wide receivers coach at Flagler Palm Coast High School, has accepted the head coach position at Seminole Ridge High School, in Loxahatchee.

Humphrey was with FPC for the last two seasons.

FPC coach Caesar Campana said Wednesday that Humphrey will be missed on the Bulldogs’ sideline.

“Steve will be a great head coach,” Campana said. “So much of our success in the last two seasons is because of his talent as a football coach. His energy and intelligence were assets to the Bulldog football program. He will be missed.”

This will be Humphrey’s first head coaching job.

“Going down to Seminole Ridge, I believe, is the right move for me and my family,” Humphrey said, adding that he and his wife are expecting twins in July. “The opportunity to be a head coach and run my own program is something I’m looking forward to.”

Humphrey was also the weightlifting coach at FPC, but he said he will not coach this season since he is leaving.

Humphrey has been coaching football for six years.

“I’m very fortunate and excited to get down to West Palm, but at the same time, I’m sad about leaving the relationships I built with the kids at FPC,” he said.
