Live fast, 'diaper' young

12:25 a.m. -- 200 Block of Granada Boulevard. Petit theft. An Ormond Beach police officer was issuing a warning for a vehicle driving with no headlight, when a passing motorist told him he witnesses the defendant running out of the store with diapers. The witness told police the defendant had asked for a ride to the store. The witness said they didn’t go into the store with the defendant, so they didn’t know if the items were paid for.

The defendant, after being read her Miranda rights, told police she took a box of Huggies pull ups, two bags of Almond M&Ms, a package of Pamper baby wipes and a box of Pampers diapers, which had a total value of $75.85, according to the report.

The store manager told police he didn’t know the defendant took the items until he viewed security footage. The store told police it wanted to prosecute the defendant, and due to her criminal history, she was charged with a felony.

Shoplift till you droplift

8:13 p.m. -- 1500 Block of Granada Boulevard. Shoplifting. A loss-prevention officer witnessed the defendant take a blue sweater jacket from the shelf and shove it into his pants. The defendant then left the store without paying, according to the report.

The loss-prevention officer brought the defendant back into the store and waited for law enforcement to arrive. The defendant was arrested for shoplifting.

Three of the defendant’s friends were also on the scene and, according to the report, were “giving (the loss-prevention officer) a hard time due to their friend being placed under arrest.” The three friends were given trespass warnings and told not to return to the store.
