+ Humphrey leaves FPC for Seminole Ridge
Steve Humphrey, the offensive coordinator and wide receivers coach at Flagler Palm Coast High School, has accepted the head coach position at Seminole Ridge High School, in Loxahatchee.
Humphrey was with FPC for the last two seasons.
FPC coach Caesar Campana said Wednesday that Humphrey will be missed on the Bulldogs’ sideline.
“Steve will be a great head coach,” Campana said. “So much of our success in the last two seasons is because of his talent as a football coach. His energy and intelligence were assets to the Bulldog football program. He will be missed.”
This will be Humphrey’s first head coaching job.
“Going down to Seminole Ridge, I believe, is the right move for me and my family,” Humphrey said, adding that he and his wife are expecting twins in July. “The opportunity to be a head coach and run my own program is something I’m looking forward to.”
Humphrey was also the weightlifting coach at FPC, but he said he will not coach this season since he is leaving.
Humphrey has been coaching football for six years.
“I’m very fortunate and excited to get down to West Palm, but at the same time, I’m sad about leaving the relationships I built with the kids at FPC,” he said.

The Rangers defeated the Bruins, 5-2, in a closely contested game to capture the Fall/Winter 2012 Flagler Roller Hockey League Championship.
The first goal of the game was scored by Frankie Terranova, of the Rangers, midway into the first period.
It was the only goal scored in the first period.
The teams traded goals in the second period, as Bruins captain Ryan Gillespie tied the game with a quick response just seven seconds in. The teams remained deadlocked for most of the remaining period, until Bobby Perham scored the go-ahead goal for the Rangers to restore their lead, 2-1, after two periods of play.
The third period proved to be more offensive as Rangers captain Jay Gagliardo scored consecutive goals, one of which would eventually wind up being the game winner. Perham added one more goal.
Cameron Heroux would notch a late goal for the Bruins, but they ran out of time.
Rangers goalie Mike Scavarda was stellar between the pipes and won the championship in his rookie season.
