North Beach Surf Adventures has shifted into summer gear, hosting its weekly surf camp. An average of 30 youths per week attend. Campers learn not only the surf basics and how to elevate their skill, but also about the environment and how to be a team player.

“I’ve watched a lot of magic go down here in the last four weeks,” said Jimmy Blumenfeld, owner. “Each year, it seems that I am able to enhance the camp for kids my son’s age.”

The camp, which is open to youth ages 5-17, is also shaping future surf instructors through its CIT program, which assures extra safety in and out of the water and gives the volunteers additional coaching. The goal is to coach them enough to be able to hire them as instructors in the future.

To register for the camp, go to NorthBeachSurfAdventures.com.
