A new brewpup opens on Granada; a pet-groomer hits one year in business; and, finance, law and healthcare hirings.

Now open: Tomoka Brewery
After a one-weekend “trial run” soft opening, Tomoka Brewery, at 188 E. Granada Blvd., will officially open for business 3 p.m. Wednesday, July 10.
The brewpub will start serving its own in-house beer in about three months, but until then, they have a selection of beers from other Florida breweries on tap, in addition to homemade appetizers and California-style pizzas. They will also feature a brew they made in collaboration with Gainesville's Swamp Head Brewery this week.

Barkle N Shine marks one year
Barkle N Shine Self-Serve Dog Wash, at 1370 N. U.S. 1, will celebrate its one-year anniversary July 14. During its first year in business, owners Cathy and Dennis Sciortino contributed free washes to all newly adopted dogs, for every local dog rescue.
The shop will have washes on sale for $3.65 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, July 13, to commemorate the anniversary. Call 256-4999.
Glenn Yarbrough named Merrill Lynch senior VP
Merrill Lynch, at 1616 Concierge Blvd., in Daytona Beach, has hired Ormond Beach’s Glenn Yarbrough as its new senior vice president and financial advisor.
A city resident for more than 23 years, Yarbrough is on several nonprofit boards, including the Volusia Literacy Council, Family ReNew and the Ormond Family YMCA. He also supports many local community groups.

Buckmaster Law hires Ormond’s David Ellzey
An Air Force veteran and current Special Olympics coach, J. David Ellzey has been hired to Buckmaster Law, at 641 S. Ridgewood Ave., primarily to work in family law. Ellzey is an award-winning criminal-defense attorney
Ellzey graduated from the University of Florida for his undergrad degree and the Florida International University College of Law, in Miami, for his juris doctorate. He is also currently a member of the Florida Air National Guard and was activated in 2001 for Operation Noble Eagle, and again in 2004 for Operations Iraqi Freedom and Enduring Freedom.

Hospital hires: new oncologist, liaison
Dr. Mudussara Asad Khan, medical oncologist and hematologist, has been hired by Florida Hospital Memorial Medical Center, in Daytona Beach, as a member of its HealthCare Partners staff, which is a group of primary-care physicians and specialists that work with the hospital in a mutual partnership.
Khan receieved her education in colleges in Pakistan, and West Virginia University. Call 231-4000.
