Adding insult to felony
8 a.m. — 100 Block of North Arbor Drive. Burglary. A TV, laptop and car keys were stolen from a woman's home and placed inside of her vehicle, the woman told police.
The woman's father woke her up at 6:50 a.m. to say that the TV was missing, and when she got up, she realized other items were gone, as well, including a wristlet, which contained her debit card, driver's license and cash. She also found the back door wide open. Outside, the missing belongings were found in the truck of her car, and her father's car keys were found in the floorboard of his car.
A deputy found no fingerprints outside, which led him to believe the items were moved using bath towels, so as not to leave prints. He then dusted inside — everywhere but on the TV, which the woman said to leave alone since it's expensive — and he found two prints.
Although neither the daughter or father heard anything during the night, the father said he did see a light on in the living room around 1:30 a.m.
Before the deputy left, the woman asked for the police chief's phone number to report an incident involving her father when she was overseas.
The father explained that officers came into their home wearing tactical vests, pointed rifles at him and handcuffed him. They told him that they were doing this because his car door was open and there had been break-ins in the area, he told the deputy. The father couldn't say what date this occurred.

Big ladies, petit theft
12:43 p.m. — 1000 Block of West Granada Boulevard. Shoplifting. A witness saw two heavy-set white women take clothes from a store's ladies section, and one of the ladies placed a few of the items in her purse; the other woman placed a few of the items in her backpack. The females then left the store through the garden department.
As they were leaving, though, the witness tried to stop them. That's when they took off on foot.
Officers searched nearby businesses for the suspects but couldn't find them. The witness said they stole about $100 worth of clothing from the store, and he provided a copy of the security footage.
The witness was unable to provide an accurate list of the stolen items.
