The Ormond Memorial Art Museum wrapped up the third program in its children’s summer art camp series Friday, July 12, with a reception and awards ceremony highlighting four young artists' work.
The program, Fabulous Florida Flora and Fauna, for ages 6-12, featured various techniques, such drawing, silk painting, sculpting, ancostic design, embossment and collaging, to create renderings of Florida’s native plants and animals.
“Summer camp was lots of fun!” one camper, Melissa Rowell, 7, exclaimed. “A lot of neat things! I want to come back and make everything all over again.”
The winners of the art show — Rowell; Ruby O’Keefe, 9; Ashlyn Knaebel, 10; and Angelina Stabile, 6 — will have their work printed onto greeting cards, which will be available for purchase in the museum’s gift shop next month.
