City Repertory Theatre's summer workshop students will perform “The Serpent,” a ritual production by Jean-Claude Van Itallie 7:30 p.m. Friday, July 19, and Saturday, July 20. There will be a 2 p.m. showing Sunday, July 21, the City Repertory Theatre, 160 Cypress Point Parkway, Suite B207.

“The Serpent” is a unique play developed by the Open Theatre in New York in the late 1960s. It explores the nature of human relationships from Biblical times through ritual and ceremony. Adam and Eve, Cain and Abel, the Garden of Eden are examined in lieu of the Kennedy/King assassinations.

Ten dynamic young actors (ages 15-23) explore the origins humanity, of love and violence: Caitlin Eriser, Kaylie Evans, Leana Gardella, Jonathan Guillot, Gabie Jackman, David Johnson, Josua Numes, Kaylee Rotunno, Xavier Ryan and Agata Sokolska.

Each participant received a $450 scholarship to participate.

The show is directed by John Sbordone and Diane Ellertsen, assisted by Lynne DiCianni.

Tickets are $15 for adults and $10 for students. Call 585-9415 or visit www.crtpalmcoast.com.
