Golf tournament registration opens to public, plus new gymnastics and cheer center opportunities, learn to row and a weekend soccer tournament.

Register now 'fore' Seabreeze football golf tourney

The Seabreeze Football Booster Club will host its annual golf tournament Saturday, Aug. 3, at River Bend Golf Course.

The tournament includes a four-person scramble, with entry fees of $75 per player, or $300 per team. The cost includes 18 holes, a cart, range balls, food, prizes and beverages.

New developments at gymnastics center

The Leisure Services Department will add a class and a rental opportunity at the Ormond Beach Gymnastics and Cheer Center.

A new Adult Beginner Gymnastics class, beginning June 7, will be held 6:30-7:30 p.m. Friday, for gymnasts 18 and older.

The facility will also now be available for birthday rentals, which will include a basic gymnastics skills lesson and an arts-and-crafts session.

Say it ain't 'row'! Training now available

The Halifax Rowing Association took part in 2013 National Learn to Row Day, June 1, at the boathouse, 201 City Island Parkway in Daytona Beach, opening up to the public for tours, history lessons, instruction on the ergometers (rowing machines) and a chance to row in an eight-person boat.

If you missed the Learn to Row Day, the association offers a six-week course, starting June 10, which will culminate with the Halifax Regatta July 27. All participants will have at least one race against other novice rowers from across the state.

Game on! Three-on-three soccer tourney

The Ormond Beach Soccer Club is hosting a three-on-three tournament June 8, which will include both recreational and competitive play for divisions U6 through adult. The soccer club expects teams from across the state to compete.
