Willie Gardner and Kyre Smith, both former Flagler Palm Coast football players, have signed to play college football.
Gardner will play at Fort Scott Community College, in Fort Scott, Kansas. He was a three-sport standout athlete in football, basketball and track at FPC. He will be receiving a full football scholarship. Gardner led the Bulldogs in receiving yards his senior season.
Fort Scott competes in the Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference, which is a member of the National Junior College Athletic Association.
Smith signed to play football at the University of Mount Union, in Alliance, Ohio. Smith also competed on the weightlifting and track-and-field teams. He was a three-year defense standout for FPC as a linebacker.
Mount Union has won 11 NCAA Division III national championships, most recently in 2012. Mount Union competes in the Ohio Athletic Conference.
FPC to host youth baseball camp
Flagler Palm Coast will host a player's camp for all youth baseball players ages 7-13 on June 18-19. Interested players can contact FPC baseball coach Jordan Butler at [email protected] or at 846-4514.
