COPS CORNER: Ex-wife dragged from car window after music debate

Music is the soundtrack to our lives, for better or worse; and, two men get into a confrontation near a hot tub.

June 11

Musical memories

2:29 a.m. — First Block of Cypress Circle. Disturbance. Former spouses were having dinner and drinks, when they started talking and listening to music.

A song came on that reminded the man of another ex, which offended the woman. The two got into an argument, and the man announced that he was leaving. The woman then hid his keys because she said he was too drunk to drive, but the man had a spare set.

As the man tried to drive away, the woman grabbed the driver’s side window to stop him. She was accidentally dragged for approximately 50 feet before the man stopped in the middle of the road.

The woman was treated for minor injuries. The man was picked by another individual.

June 12

Hot tub, heated words

11:18 p.m. — 800 Block of S. Atlantic Avenue. Disturbance. An Ohio man told police he was in the hot tub outside a hotel, when got into a verbal altercation with a Kentucky man.

The Kentucky men overheard the Ohio man yelling at what he believed was a child, so the Kentucky man said to the Ohio man, “If you want to yell at someone, don’t yell at a kid. Yell at me.”

The two men got into an argument, according to reports, and the Kentucky man, who was intoxicated, challenged the Ohio man to a bout of fisticuffs.

The Ohio man reportedly threw a punch that missed, and then the two men were separated. The Kentucky man and his father were trespassed from the hotel.
