Daytona Beach area seeing strong housing growth
Closed housing sales were up this April 21.3% over last April in the greater Daytona Beach area, according to the Daytona Beach Area Association of Realtors. But that’s just one of the group's reported indicators of market upswing.
New listings, a “lagging” sign of market health, according to John Adams, general manager of Adams Cameron & Company Realtors, the region’s largest property firm, were up 13.3% over last April. The median sale price rose 16% in the same time frame, to $145,000, and 90.9% of all sellers received list price, over 89.2% last April.
Active listings are also down over the same period.
“It’s incredible to have a 70% increase in pending sales while having a 40% decrease in active inventory over the same period,” Adams said. “This tells me that the market is fully in recovery, and our opportunity for sales is better than it has been in years.”
