A Palm Coast man was arrested Friday on charges of aggravated battery with a deadly weapon in reference to a December incident that originally went unreported.

Justin Adam Boyles got into an argument with another man on Dec. 21, during a party at a Palm Coast home, according to a charging affidavit. As the man Boyles was arguing with walked away, Boyles hit him in the head with a golf club, knocking him unconscious, the affidavit says. The victim later told law enforcement that when he became alert, Boyles was on top of him and choking him.

A witness pulled Boyles from the victim and  took photographs of the victim’s injuries. The incident was originally unreported because “due to the violent history of the defendant and future ramifications they both feel the defendant is capable,” the affidavit says.

After the victim reported the incident, a judge on June 19 signed an arrest warrant. Boyles was arrested two days later after he was located by the U.S. Marshal's Fugitive Tax Force.

He remains in the Flagler County Inmate Facility on $200,000 bail.
