College bound: Magnuson signs to play softball
Marisa Magnuson, a senior at Matanzas High School, has signed to play softball at Auburn University at Montgomery. 

Magnuson plays second base for the Lady Pirates. 

The Warhawks are a member of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics and compete in the Southern States Athletic Conference.

Pirates lacrosse routs Bishop Snyder, off to 3-0 start
In boys lacrosse, Matanzas routed Bishop Snyder, 14-2, on Wednesday to continue its hot start to the season.

The Pirates improved to 3-0.

Gunner Parson led the way with three goals and three assists. Jake Cohill added three goals and two assists. Pablo Torres (two goals, one assist), Josh Holbrook (one goal, one assist), Jon O’Connor (one goal, one assist), Matt Garrison (one goal) and Christian Wilson (two goals) scored the rest of the goals.

Dylan Mulligan added an assist.

Pirates goalie Matt Gutierrez had 11 saves. 

Fleming Island 12, FPC 4
Flagler Palm Coast boys lacrosse (0-2) lost its second game of the season to Fleming Island, 12-4, on Wednesday.

“(We were) outmatched and had to go with a number of changes with (our) young team to find something that was successful,” coach Ryan Andrews said.

Freshman Mike Forte scored all four of FPC’s goals.
