Prickett signs with Hillsborough Community College for softball
Gabrielle Prickett, a senior at Matanzas High school, has signed to play softball at Hillsborough Community College.

Prickett primarily plays catcher for the Lady Pirates.

The Lady Hawks are a member of the National Junior College Athletic Association.

 

Maynard leads FPC past New Smyrna Beach
The Flagler Palm Coast softball team knocked off New Smyrna Beach, 7-1.

Gabby Maynard allowed just three hits in seven innings. She also had a bases-loaded double to drive in three runs.

Gabby Cochran went 4-for-4, and Breanna Blackledge went 2-for-4.

FPC track-and-field competes at UNF event
The Flagler Palm Coast track-and-field teams competed Saturday at the University of North Florida Spring Break Open, in Jacksonville. Individual highlights are as follows: 

BOYS

• The 4x400  relay team took first place over defending Class 3A state champion Bartam Trail. The team, which includes Kadeem Williams, Eddie Mutungu, Eric Mejias and Andrew Folk, finished in 3 minutes, 24 seconds — less than one second in front of Bartam Trail. 

• Folk also took second place in 400 meters, finishing in a personal best time of 49.61 seconds.

• Williams also took second place in the 300-meters hurdles, third place in the 100-meters hurdles and fourth place in the long jump.

• Thomas Carroll finished fourth in the 3,200 meters with a time of 9 minutes, 55 seconds. It was Carroll’s first time running sub-10 minutes.

• The 4x800 team finished third, and includes Carroll, Mutungu, Jan Carlo Vicens and Brad Walbert

GIRLS

• Paige Way finished fifth in the 800 meters, with a time of 2 minutes, 27 seconds.

• Devonne Friday took fourth in the 300-meters hurdles, with a time of 49.17 seconds.

• The 4x800 relay team took fourth, which includes Friday, Way, Sophia Clark and Josie Davis. The final time was 10 minutes, 34 seconds.

• The 4x400 relay team took fifth, which includes Ladeijah Williams, Way, Friday and Davis. The team finished in 4 minutes, 17 seconds.
