A 35-year-old motorcyclist was listed in critical condition Sunday night after a crash on Interstate 95 forced at least one lane to be closed for almost two hours, according to troopers.
Dana Marie Oleske, of Aurora, Ill., was traveling northbound on I-95 in the center lane about three miles south of State Road 100.
Oleske was closing in on a 2007 Chevrolet Suburban being driven by Dawn Borrelli, of Palm Coast.
Oleske attempted to change lanes to the inside lane, but the right side of Oleske’s 2004 Honda Shadow motorcycle struck the left rear of Borrelli’s SUV.
Oleske veered off the truck into a westerly direction and slid into the inside emergency lane, according to the report.
Oleske was ejected from the motorcycle. Borrelli immediately pulled over to the outside emergency lane after the collision with the motorcycle.
Oleske was airlifted to Halifax Medical Center, according to the Florida Highway Patrol report. The use of a helmet by Oleske is unknown at this time and an alcohol test is pending, the report states.
Charges are pending further investigation.
