Mt. Ormond Beach erupts!

10:44 p.m. — First Block of Breakaway Trails. Vandalism. While on extra patrol in the Breakaway Trails subdivision, an Ormond Beach police officer found paint on the roadway.

The officer noted in the report, that just like he'd found in the past few weeks, the spot on the road, which protrudes upward due to underground tree roots, had been painted to look like a “volcano with lava coming from it.”

According to the report, the paint was dry, but appeared fresh by the smell and several vehicles had driven through it, causing it to spread along the road.

Toilet-'frees'

7:51 p.m. — 600 Block of Atlantic Avenue. Shoplifting. The defendant entered the store and concealed a bottle of hair spray and shampoo in her purse.

She was also seen with a package of makeup, but told police she only picked it up. However, the package was later found empty, according to reports, and the product could not be found.

While searching the defendant, the police reported finding a Hydrocodone-labled pill bottle with the defendant’s name on it. The officer ran a check, and determined the four pills inside the bottle were Alprazolam, which treats anxiety and panic disorders, among other things.

The defendant was read her Miranda rights and charged with possession of Alprazolam and shoplifting.
