Woody’s adds breakfast
Joe Rizzo, co-owner of Woody’s Bar-B-Q in Palm Coast, announced that the restaurant has been serving breakfast since March 7.
“There are no other country style breakfast restaurants on our side of town,” Rizzo said. “We are going to have a super-size ham and egg meal, sweet potato waffles with pecans and whipped cream and so much more.”
Woody’s breakfast menu is now served daily from 6-11 a.m. It includes omelets, pancakes, chicken and waffles, biscuits and gravy, and other traditional country breakfast specialties.
Daytona Toyota names new GM
Dan O'Brien, 27, was hired as the general manager of Daytona Toyota. He has nine years of experience in the automotive dealership business and moved to Palm Coast five months ago after getting the job.
Fantasy Holdings joins manufacturing community
Fantasy Holdings Inc. acquired and consolidated two premium cigar and cigarillo manufacturing facilities located in Santiago, the central cigar manufacturing region of the Dominican Republic.
“This strategic initiative, executed and effectively completed by our company, will provide a solid foundation for the company’s planned domestic and international growth, as well as support the company’s product line expansion plans,” said Kim Rotunno, the company’s chief financial officer.
Construction under way for Safe Home Builders
Safe Home Builders purchased a group of lots in Palm Coast and recently began construction on them for homes starting at $150,000. The company plans to build 24 homes per year.
This is the first time the builder has worked in Palm Coast. After conducting a study of inventory and a general market analysis of areas in Florida, the company decided on Palm Coast for its next project.
Each home built by the company includes a safe room.

Palm Coast Data has been awarded the full-service membership fulfillment contract for Andrew Harper, a private organization of affluent travelers who seek out the world’s best destinations. Andrew Harper reviews travel locations and publishes the Hideaway Reporter newsletter in print and online.
Real Living Real Estate announces national award winners
Real Living Real Estate recognized four Palm Coast associates in its 2012 national awards.
Kendall Caputo, broker associate, ranked 35th nationally in closed units and 97th in total dollar value of closed units.
Broker associate Frank Sockman was ranked 52nd in closed units and sales associates, Suzanne Lynch and Marge Ankrom were ranked 66th and 68th, respectively.
Kendall Caputo, Marge Ankrom and Vlaja Telfer were all awarded the Premier Service Diamond Elite designation, the company’s highest recognition for customer service. In addition, Fred Dickinson, Lucille O’Day and Steve Andrade were also recognized at the diamond level.
'Islands Under Fire' reviewed
Publishers Weekly awarded a positive review for Ocean Publishing’s latest book, "Islands Under Fire: The Improbable Quest to Save the Corals of Puerto Rico," by Kevin McCarey.
“This memoir, part travelogue and part natural history, is rich with humor, misadventure, and triumph,” the review sasy. “McCarey's writing is a pleasure, his penchant for simile and skill with dialogue (are) particular delights.”
Emerald Homes Construction under way
Emerald Homes has begun construction on the first homes in the new community of Sunset Inlet on Beverly Beach. There are three homes under construction, with one planned as a fully furnished model and sales center. Grand Haven Realty is providing exclusive sales representation for the properties.
Local directory gets a new name
Carmenda Laymon announced that her company, formerly www.360PalmCoast.com, now operates as www.360FlaglerCounty.com.
When Laymon moved to Palm Coast in 2009, she realized there was no source for area events, fundraisers or promotions.
“When I moved to Palm Coast, I wasn’t familiar with everything that Flagler County had to offer,” she said. “After living here longer, I realized the best solution would be to include the entire county in our name and all of the county’s events on our directory.”
