Motorcyclist in critical condition after I-95 crash
A 35-year-old motorcyclist was listed in critical condition Sunday night after a crash on Interstate 95 forced at least one lane to be closed for almost two hours, according to troopers.

Dana Marie Oleske, of Aurora, Ill., was traveling northbound on I-95 in the center lane about three miles south of State Road 100.

Oleske was closing in on a 2007 Chevrolet Suburban being driven by Dawn Borrelli, of Palm Coast.

Oleske attempted to change lanes to the inside lane, but the right side of Oleske’s 2004 Honda Shadow motorcycle struck the left rear of Borrelli’s SUV.

Oleske veered off the truck into a westerly direction and slid into the inside emergency lane, according to the report.

Oleske was ejected from the motorcycle. Borrelli immediately pulled over to the outside emergency lane after the collision with the motorcycle.

Oleske was airlifted to Halifax Medical Center, according to the Florida Highway Patrol report. The use of a helmet by Oleske is unknown at this time and an alcohol test is pending, the report states.

Two DUI crashes over the weekend
Two people were arrested in Palm Coast after hitting other vehicles while driving under the influence of alcohol. Conant Case was arrested Friday night after hitting another vehicle while on his motorcycle.

The reporting party said she was driving through an intersection on Palm Coast Parkway in the far right lane when a red motorcycle struck the passenger side door of her vehicle. The victim said the motorcycle tipped over, and Case said he was going to Wendy’s to get some food. She called 911 and went with a reporting deputy to the fast food restaurant to identify Case and his motorcycle.

Case performed field sobriety tests poorly and was placed under arrest for driving under the influence with property damage.

On Saturday night, Frederick Edmond Szwed was arrested after he was observed pulling into the parking lot of a restaurant on Old Kings Road and striking the rear of another vehicle, which was parked and unoccupied. The impact caused about $250 of damage to the parked vehicle.

Two witnesses said they then watched Szwed drive his vehicle in reverse. Deputies responded and Swzed underwent a standard field sobriety test. His blood alcohol content was later measured at 0.166 and 0.171. He was arrested for driving under the influence with property damage.
