More than 200 Old Kings Elementary School students performed in the schoolwide musical, “It’s a Small World,” directed by music teacher Rob Frederick Monday and Tuesday night at the Flagler Auditorium.

Whetston recognized for volunteer service
Flagler Palm Coast High School student Timothy Whetstone has been honored for his exemplary volunteer service with a President’s Volunteer Service Award, at the Prudential Spirit of Community Awards.

He earned his award because of his many hours of community service, including his involvement with the Rymfire Boys and Girls Club of America for the past three years, where he mentors students in academics and with life-learning experiences.

“Tim is one of the nicest, most genuinely caring students I have met in several years,” said Debbie Couch, one of Whetston’s teachers. “His kindness is obvious in class and his willingness to be of assistance to his peers is always front and foremost, so discovering that he has been a youth volunteer for several years comes as no surprise. He is a credit to his family, our school and our community.”
