Multiple Scoregasms win BASL coed title
Multiple Scoregasms won the Palm Coast Coed South championship on Sunday, defeating Back That Pass Up, 4-3, in extra time.
Multiple Scoregasms took an early 3-0 lead, but Back That Pass Up scored three unanswered goals to even the score at halftime, 3-3.
The game was scoreless in the second half, and after 50 minutes, the two teams played a 10-minute golden-goal overtime period.
With about a minute to go, Multiple Scoregasms netted the championship-winning goal.
Lady Pirates demolish district foe Pedro Menendez
In only took the Matanzas softball team three innings to plate 17 runs. Actually, that’s all the Lady Pirates were allowed to play Friday night, as they mercy-ruled Pedro Menendez, 17-2, in a District 4-5A game.
The Lady Pirates (5-4) scored seven runs in the first inning and added another 10 runs in the third inning. That was all she wrote.
Starting pitcher Amber Johnson allowed three this and two runs with four strikeouts and one walk.
Gabrielle Prickett, Marisa Magnuson and Morgan Lambert all went 2-for-3. Christina Reynolds went 2-for-3 with three RBIs and Nicole Breen went 2-for-2 with two RBIs.
“We needed this win to break our losing streak,” Novak said. “ We have played real tough teams the last four games and have come up just short, but playing tough teams and playing competitive just makes us stronger — win or lose. It’s great practice for districts.”
