Me sell your bell
3:04 p.m. — 1500 Block of Granada Boulevard. Shoplifting. The store's loss-prevention officer witnessed the defendant remove a bicycle lock, bell and light set from a shelf and bring them to the customer-service counter.
The defendant then gave a customer service representative a receipt and requested a refund of $24.39, which he was given.
After the defendant collected the money, he was stopped by the loss-prevention officer and detained until Ormond Beach police arrived.
When asked why the defendant tried to fraudulently return items, according to reports, the defendant said, simply, “I (flubbed) up.” Because he had five prior failures to appear in his criminal history, the defendant was transported to Volusia County Branch Jail.
