A Flagler County Sheriff’s Office detective has been arrested for domestic violence and has been booked into the Flagler County Inmate Facility following an argument with his ex-wife at their Palm Coast home that turned physical Sunday evening.

Ronn Rauber, 42, has been suspended without pay. Bond has been set at $2,500 after his first court appearance this morning.

Deputies responded to the couple’s home around 6:08 p.m. after receiving a 911 call. The argument started after Rauber learned his ex-wife had introduced one of his children to a male friend, according to deputies. The couple is divorced, but live together as a family.

Rauber is charged with misdemeanor battery. His ex-wife told deputies he pinned her by her wrists against a wall in their bedroom. Rauber denied the argument turned physical.

“This is a serious problem in our community, and no one is immune from their actions during a domestic argument that turns violent,” said Undersheriff Rick Staly. “Our agency has a zero-tolerance policy for domestic violence.”

Rauber has been with the Sheriff’s Office since 1993.
