A 51-year-old Flagler Beach man was killed Tuesday while riding his bike along State Road 100, according to troopers

Fredrick J. Martinez was riding a bicycle in the marked bicycle lane around 2:35 p.m. eastbound on State Road 100 when Robert Little, 32, of Palm Coast, was also traveling eastbound on State Road 100 in a Ford van.

Little began to drift onto the bicycle lane and struck the rear of Martinez’s bicycle with his right front bumper, according to a Florida Highway Patrol report.

Little then swerved back to the left and back to the right before coming to final rest on the south shoulder.

The bicycle came to final rest on the bicycle lane facing west on its left side.

Martinez was ejected and landed in the bicycle lane, east of the bike and west of Little’s van, the report states.

Little told troopers he was sneezing when he struck Martinez.

Charges are pending, according to the report.
